Traction Load Flow Analysis System

This electrical circuit modelling system, is used to analyse complex electrical traction distribution circuitry.

Analysing the electrical behaviour of a 25kV Traction Distribution system is complicated by the multiple paths through which electrical current can run; particularly that part of the electical current that flows in the ground.  This software solution uses complex matrix mathematics to 'solve' the network with various types of locomotive drawing opower in multiple locations.

While not specifically a database, this electrical circuit modelling system, is used to analyse complex electrical distribution circuitry. A major feature of this system is the placing of electrical component characteristics into a database, thus allowing the configuration management of the components analysed. And the repeatability of the analyses.

The system analyses power supply voltage and current in all conductors of the traction distribution system, including stray ground currents which interfere with nearby telecommunications wiring.

The system produces analyses for studies including maximum loading, short circuit analyses, and harmonic resonance behaviour.
