This application is available as an off-the shelf item, and is generally not available for customisation. However as many of our products are built to merge into a complete office suite, other applications can be used in conjunction with this without specific modification.

Defect Recording and Task Delegation System

This simple database records “defects”, "issues" or “tasks to be done” against various “projects” and records the details of the remedial work undertaken.

The database is designed around a simple three stage quality process:
       * Record any defects identified.
       * Perform rectification work.
       * Approve the modified system.

This defect repair stage process is actioned by a evaluating all identified defects and associating each defect with an appropriate staff member or "rectifier".

Once the rectification work is completed, the rectifier describes the work performed and adds a rectification date and his/her name to the work.

The supervisor or customer then checks the work and adds an approval date as a final "signature".

Several printed reports are produced including:
     * New defects.
     * Defects allocated to staff members. (sorted by staff member, priority
        and project.
     * Defects rectified "recently" - i.e. within a nominated time frame.
     * Defects outstanding - identifying defects that have not been
        rectified and the length of time that they have been waiting.
        - Filterable by project or by staff member.
     * Defects/Rectifications to be approved.
     * All Defects, separately listing New Defects, Unallocated defects,
        Unapproved Rectifications and Approved Defects/Rectifications.

This database comprises a major part of a company’s quality system, ensuring that any defects that are noted will be evaluated, corrected and the remedy approved.

Whilst it was originally written to handle software defects, it can be used with very little modification in most areas of development and production.
